New Australian Pavilion A pavilion for the exhibition and presentation of Australia's contributions to the Venice Arts Biennale (52nd held 2007), and Venice Architects Biennale (11th held 2008). Composition The aluminum and eucalyptus composite shell structure creates a lace-like visual effect and is largely self-supporting, with supplemental uprights that spring from the cast concrete slab that support both ground and upper levels. End exposures are enclosed by dot screen-filtered, structural glass. |
